Our client is one of the leading players in the chilled food sector, recognised for their quality, innovation and response of service. The company has built a really strong presence within its market and has established relationships with a number of key customers, supplying them on a daily basis, continuing to grow in what is a very competitive and demanding sector.
In line with its plans for growth, it is now looking to appoint a Managing Director who will continue to develop the business. The remit will be to lead and substantially grow the company, by maximising the performance of the company’s existing revenue streams whilst actively building a market leading business.
This will be achieved by shaping differentiated strategies underpinned by robust plans; successfully developing, launching and fully commercialising new products and technologies. In order to deliver, you will need to provide strong leadership across the business that ensures a relentless focus upon performance and delivery against all key objectives and targets; thus delivering competitive advantage for the business, achieving and exceeding budget and maximising shareholder return.
This role is ideally suited to an ambitious, highly motivated, entrepreneurial Managing Director; someone with an FMCG background who has proven success in a fast moving production environment and experience of driving sales. It is likely that you are either an established general manager or a commercially biased director, used to leading and managing multi-disciplined teams and to contributing at a senior level from a strategic perspective. Because of the very nature of the business you will need to be highly numerate.
You will have a proven track record of successfully taking strategic responsibility for a business, developing it within the retail focussed marketplace and delivering the required commercial return. The successful candidate will have a high level of commercial acumen, be a decisive leader, have excellent people and customer relationship management skills and be an agent for change. Intrinsic to this role is the ability to engage with new potential customers and to build positive, long term relationships with external stakeholders. The successful candidate will act as the public speaker and public relations representative of the company in ways that strengthen its profile, so excellent listening and communications skills are required.
