Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Potato Buyer to join the procurement team. This role is critical in ensuring a consistent supply of high-quality potatoes from a diverse network of growers. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing grower relationships, expanding the supplier base, overseeing the procurement process, and maintaining the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Grower Liaison: Engage with growers across all sectors of the industry to procure potatoes, ensuring a steady supply that meets the company’s needs.
* Grower Base Expansion: Identify and onboard new growers to strengthen and diversify our supplier network.
* Quality Assurance: Ensure that all procured potatoes meet the required quality standards and are delivered on time, in line with contractual agreements.
* Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, supportive relationships with growers, offering commercial advice and assistance to ensure mutual success.
* Quality Improvement: Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing potato quality through continuous improvement efforts within the grower network.
* Brand Promotion: Actively promote the company’s brands within the grower community and beyond.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in the potato industry.
* Strong understanding of the potato supply chain and quality standards.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
* Willingness to travel as required.
