    INTRO:

    Henderson Brown is delighted to announce a partnership with Albion Fine Foods to recruit the newest member of the SLT Team – Operations Director.

    Albion Fine Foods, part of the Vestey Food Group, are a leading foodservice business supplying chefs in London and the southeast with a seven day a week service offering over 4000 products ranging from dairy, frozen, dry goods, produce, chilled and non-food products. Their mission has always been to provide chefs with great service, great produce and less hassle.

    OVERVIEW:

    Working directly with the General Manager, this role will support the business as they transition through their next phase of growth from £50M to £100M as they move into their new 140,000 sqft facility in Dartford.

    Set up in 2017, the business has moved from strength to strength, even growing through the turbulence of COVID-19. Now working with an established and loyal client base, the business is working towards becoming the No.1 foodservice operation in the South-East.

    This represents an exciting opportunity to onboard at a Senior Level with a rapidly growing foodservice business.

    JOB SUMMARY:

    The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring the business is well-coordinated and productive by managing its procedures and coaching its people. The area of responsibility is wide, highly strategic, and very ‘hands on’.

    This role will support the transition to a new site and work to build robust operational foundations for future growth. These include the implementation of best practise, defining operational strategy and to both implement & imbed ERP / WMS & Transport systems.

    Beyond this, day to day activities include; directing daily execution of all aspects of Inbound and Outbound Warehouse; Fleet Services; Facilities Management (including building, grounds, power industrial equipment, hygiene, security), Transportation (including routing, delivery, and backhaul); Operations Systems and related third party providers.

    In line with other senior leadership roles, you’ll be responsible for creating and engaging a collegiate workforce that feels supported, developed & inspired. You’ll also be responsible for delivering high service levels and customer satisfaction.

    He/she must be an excellent leader who can discover the most efficient ways to run a business.
    The goal is to safeguard and augment the efficiency of the company’s operations to facilitate accelerating development, build robustness and agility for long-term success.

    PERSON SPEC:

    We are looking for someone who can learn fast, problem-solve at speed, think laterally and multi-task, make rational decisions quickly and communicate effectively across every level of the business.

    When it comes to fixing problems, we are looking for someone who can prioritise, execute with 100% focus and move on swiftly.

    It’s important the incoming incumbent understands and appreciates the work done by the team to build this business to where it stands today. The successful candidate will hold themselves to the values that underpin the business and can both integrate and add value to the team.
